Browsing products
At A Child's Delight, we carry a wide range of high-quality, high-fun toys for children, and we're sure we have something magical for each and every child. We know it can sometimes be hard to find a perfect toy or gift, so we offer many different ways to shop. The easiest way to look through our toys is to browse our categories. To browse, either click on the large icons on our home page, or click on the pink category headings to the left.

Within whatever category you choose, pink and purple boxes will appear at the right of the product list. These boxes display more specific groupings within your category. For instance, if you're looking for art supplies for a 3 year old, click on the "Shop by Age" heading and then on the 3-4 years subheading. Then, look for the box at the right that says "Arts and Crafts." Clicking on that will give you a detailed, precise list of toys that are ideal for your search!

Shop by Age allows you to find toys for children at a particular stage of development. As children grow and change, their favorite kinds of play change as well. Shopping by age helps you discover a toy that will appeal to the child by providing an appropriate style of fun!

Shop by Brand lists toys sorted by their manufacturer. We carry many widely popular product lines as well as some lesser-known treasures, but all of our featured brands are known the world over for providing quality toys. This is a good way to shop for a toy with a name that you trust, or for a child who likes a particular product line.

Shop by Category is ideal for those times when you know a child's interests and want to find a toy that will complement them perfectly while providing some new excitement. There's always something unexpected even in the most traditional category of toys!

Searching for a toy by one of these three methods will almost always provide you with a perfect result. Searching for toys
Searching is perfect if you want something very specific. Whether you're looking for one toy by its name, such as "MusicMaker autoharp," or if you're looking for one kind of item, such as "dollhouse," the search will bring up a narrow range of products that fit your criteria. Just type your keywords into the little box at the top left of the page and either click search or press enter. Trying different kinds of searches if you don't immediately find what you're looking for, for instance substituting "trike" for "tricycle," might help you find more appropriate results.

Related products
Some product description pages will offer a list of related products. The related products list works in two ways: firstly, by displaying commonly-purchased accessories along with one product, it saves the trouble of making a search for the accessory; and secondly, it helps customers browse without having to go forwards and backwards through the website. This is a great way to find similar products to comparison-shop. Don't be shy about looking through these products - you'll probably find something that you like!

Our featured products are some things we're very proud of. Sometimes they're store favorites that we wanted to present to our online clients, sometimes they're seasonal picks to celebrate a certain holiday or just the fleeting summer weather. Often, they're special toys that other stores might not carry or even know about, hidden treasures that have won our hearts. However they're chosen, take a look at our featured items to find amazing toys that you might not otherwise be able to find.

Out of stock items
Although we constantly aim to keep our shelves full of terrific products beloved by children and adults, occasionally we will be out of stock of a particular item. When an item is out of stock, it still appears on the website, but cannot be ordered. We are constantly updating our inventory as our stores and warehouses receive shipments from manufacturers, so as soon as we do stock the item again it will be listed as available here on the website. However, we do not always know exactly when product shipments will come from the manufacturers, so we cannot answer your questions about when items will be stocked. The best way to find out is to keep checking back on the site. Although we're deeply sorry about the inconvenience, we cannot allow future orders on items waiting to be restocked.

Customer accounts
At A Child's Delight, you have the option of creating a customer account, including a customer name and password. This will store some of your information on our secure server and help you save time when you make other purchases in the future. If you forget your password, you can have it sent to the email address associated with your user name. Remember to keep your user name and password private!

Orders
Choosing items to buy
When you find an item that you like, you can move it to your shopping cart. To put a toy in your cart, simply click on the "Buy" button from the browsing page, or the 'Add to Cart" button from the product description page. Don't worry! Putting an item in your cart doesn't mean it'll stay there forever. You have plenty of time to revise the contents of your cart before you move to the checkout.

The total number of items in your cart and the total combined price of those items are displayed at the top right of your screen while you're on the browsing screen. This is a handy way to keep track of how much you're buying!

To edit the amount of items in your cart, or to remove items from your cart, click on "Shopping Cart" on the bar at the top of the page. To change the quantity of something, for instance, to buy two tandem seats instead of just one, change the number in the box to the left of the product name, then click "Update" at the bottom of the menu. It's important to remember to click "Update," because otherwise the changes to your cart may not be registered. Deleting items from your cart is just as simple - merely click the little "trash can" icon to the left of the product name and the item will be removed from your cart.

When you're done adding and removing items from your cart, click the "Check Out" button at the top right of the shopping cart page to proceed to the check out!

Placing an order
When you're done shopping, click on "Check Out" at the top of the page to begin to place your order. You will now enter our secure server. From this point on, everything you send to us is safely encrypted by VeriSign to ensure your privacy and security.

You will first have the option to enter your username and password, if you are a returning user. For more information about user accounts, click here. We offer this feature as a convenience to our returning users, allowing them to speed up the checkout process by remembering some of their information.

If you are not a returning user, just click on the forward button. You will have the option to create a user account later. This is a very simple process that will help you save time in the future!

Next you will be asked to enter the shipping address for your order. Please make sure that all the information in this section is correct, or otherwise your order may be delayed due to problems in shipping. If your shipping address is the same as the billing address you will enter for your credit card, click the appropriate button. This will save time later since you won't have to enter the same address in again when you give us your credit card information. If you're sending this order to somewhere besides your billing address, you'll automatically enter the other address momentarily.

Also on this page you will enter an email address at which you can be contacted. A Child's Delight will send important confirmation emails and other communications about your order to you at this address, so make sure to enter your email address correctly.

Click the continue button to view your shipping options. On this screen, you can choose between several different options for shipping, relating to how fast you want the order delivered. Please note that we offer free shipping within the continental US on all orders over $75.00, but we also suggest that you allow 7 business days for this free shipping. If you would like your order to arrive faster than this, you can choose between the variety of other options. Remember that you will have to pay for these faster shipping options.

Continue on to the next page to choose your payment method. For more information about different kinds of payment options available to you, click here. If you want to pay by credit card, click the button next to that option and enter your credit card and billing information. To pay by check, click that option and send a check to the address listed there. We will contact you by email when we have received your check.

Finally, click the "Submit Order" button to send us your order. We will notify you immediately if there are any problems with your order as we have received it. Otherwise, you're done! Payment options
As a convenience to our customers, we accept payment in many different ways. You can easily pay by credit card online by entering your credit card information at the end of checkout. If you would rather not give out your credit card information over the Internet, you can email or call us and arrange a time for you to place your order over the telephone.

We also except check payments, although you should be advised that the process will take longer than if you pay with credit card. You can pay by check at the end of the checkout process by sending your check to the address specified there. We will process your order when we receive your check, so please remember that we will only ship your order after your check arrives in the mail. This may add several days to the time it will take to process your order.

All payment information is processed on a secure server to ensure your privacy and safety.

Sales tax and billing
Sales tax will be charged to all of our customers who live in the state of California. The amount of sales tax to be charged is always listed at the bottom of the shopping cart page.

After you choose to "Submit Order" at the end of the checkout process, your credit card begins to be processed. Your credit card will be charged soon afterwards. If you pay with check or pay over the phone, you will be charged soon after we receive your billing information.

Shipment questions
We offer free shipping within the continental US for all orders over $75.00. However, please be advised that you should allow 7 business days for such shipments to arrive.

We offer a wide range of other shipment options if you would like your order to arrive faster than this. These options are listed on the check out page and range from a variety of 2- and 3- day shipment options to several next-day shipping choices. To view the cost of your shipment choice, click the "Continue" button on the shipment page. The software will contact the shipper and calculate the cost of shipment. If you would like to explore other options, you can modify your choice by clicking the "Back" button on your browser and selecting a different shipment method.

Some options are shipped directly to you from the manufacturer. Please allow 10-15 business days for these items to be processed and shipped before arrival. We will contact you notifying you of the explicit shipping details of such orders.

Returns policy
A Child's Delight will accept returns within 45 days of the purchase date, provided the merchandise is returned unopened and in its original carton or package with all its parts.
